21st Dau Ramchandra Deshmukh Smriti ‘Majority Honor’ will be given to Basant Sahu on 14 January

This year, ‘Ramachandra Deshmukh Majority Award’ will be given to Basant Sahu, this year, to the cultural workers who have made significant contributions in the field of art, literature and culture in memory of Dau Ramachandra Deshmukh, the creator of folk dances like ‘Chandaini Gonda’ and ‘Kari’. The selection committee has selected the extraordinary painter Mr. Sahu, a resident of Kurud, in view of his unique life-style of drawing the best in spite of his Divine circumstances.

Divyang painter Basant has been drawing with oil paint for the last 25 years despite physical challenges. Born on 22 November 1972, the painter’s life changed after an accident. They are 95 percent disabled. Chhattisgarh and rural beauty emerges in most of the spring paintings of Sarojini Chowk Kurud resident. The farmer and his surroundings are also a favorite subject of spring.

Basant has also worked continuously under the Beti Padhao-Beti Bachao series. He has made more than 200 paintings. They are being appreciated all over the country. This painter has given prominence to prominently portray the rural life of Chhattisgarh. Single and group exhibitions have also been organized outside the state and the state. His pictures are also stored in the Vidhan Sabha, Chief Minister’s residence and Raj Bhavan to Rashtrapati Bhavan. Paintings made of spring are displayed in England and London as well as the National Trade Fair representing Chhattisgarh in Delhi.
