Indian Railways is trying to increase revenue through new measures. Under this, Railways has started app based bags on wheels service under Non Fare Revenue Earnings Scheme in Delhi division.

This will be the first of its kind service for railway passengers in the country. Through the BOW app, railway passengers will apply to bring their goods from their home to the railway station or to take them from the railway station to the house. The work of transporting the passenger’s luggage safely and according to the booking details of the passenger will be done by the contractor.

Door-to-door service of luggage will be provided by the firm to the passengers on nominal charges and their luggage will be transported easily from the passenger’s house to his coach in the train or from his coach to his house. This service will prove to be very beneficial for the railway passengers, especially senior citizens, disabled people and women passengers traveling alone.

The special feature of this service is that the delivery of goods will be ensured before the departure of the train. As a result, passengers will experience a different type of journey, free from the hassle of bringing or carrying luggage to the coach. Initially, this service will be available for passengers boarding from New Delhi, Delhi Hazrat Nizamuddin, Delhi Cantonment, Delhi Sarai Rohila, Ghaziabad and Gurgaon railway stations.
