Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel who helped Congress to sweep recently-held Assembly polls on promises of farm loan waiver, hit out at the Union Government’s interim budget presented on Friday, and termed it a mere ‘jumla’.

“This is Jumla-bullet-express in 2019 by the BJP Government after Jumla-express in 2014,’’ Baghel tweeted in his reaction to the budget tabled by Finance Minister Piyush Goyal in Lok Sabha.

He asked where are jobs, what happened to 2 crore jobs annually promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi government in 2014, how many smart cities were created in country by the NDA

Government? He took a jibe at the budget promises for creating one lakh digital villages over the next five years and said Rs it’s all jumla nothing else’.

Baghel also asked the central government to explain why the government failed to keep up its prime poll promise of crediting Rs 15 lakh to account of everyone. He also asked the government why it didn’t implement MS Swaminathan Commission report which was aimed at improving financial health of farmers.
